PDF is an excellent medium for reviewing electronic documents. With PDF, it's possible to preserve the original copy of a document in a single file together with all review material. PDF-based review revolves around annotations. PDF annotations are comments of one sort or another that are attached directly to the PDF file, but are considered to be separate to the content of the PDF itself (the pages, text and images). These annotations can be hidden at will to display the original file content, and can also be sorted, organised and printed out for reference via the comments pane.
