Basic PDF image editing

You can perform many image editing functions via the Tools menu. These include extracting, replacing, despeckling, and rearranging. In most cases it's just a matter of selecting the Select Image tool, selecting the image, and then modifying it. (For related information see the editing PDF images and text feature overview.)

There's tools to rearrange images so that they appear in front or behind other content on the page. While there are others like the despeckle tool that detects the edges in an image and blurs all of the selection except those edges, making it easier to clean up bitmapped images.

To select an image to edit:

  1. Do either of the following:
    • Choose Tools > Select Image.
    • Select the Select Image toolbar button.
  2. Click the image to edit.
