Audit images in PDF
The Auditing Images tool lets you perform changes on one or more images. After scanning a PDF document the Audit Images window displays a list of all images the document contains. In one action you can change the color space, despeckle, edit OPI, and resample any images you have selected. The actions you can perform include:
- Convert color space. Lets you convert images to a different color space.
- Despeckle. This detects the edges in an image (areas where significant color changes occur) and blurs all of the selection except those edges. This removes noise while preserving detail. You may find it useful for cleaning up bitmapped images.
- Edit OPI. When an individual image is selected you can use Edit OPI and specify the path to the higher resolution image. This is design for print professionals.
- Sample. Lets you sample (downsample and subsample) your images to make them smaller.

To audit and edit one or more images:
- Choose Tools > Image Tools > Audit Images. Nitro PDF Professional will scan the document for images, and then pop up the Audit Images dialog.
- Select the images to process. Use Ctrl+A to select all images. To select only some images, press Ctrl, and then click on the images to highlight them.
- Select the action to perform.
- Click Execute.
