The PDF note tool allows you to add notes to a PDF page. A note in a PDF document is very much like a conventional sticky note - a little colored square with commentary that sits on top of the page content. PDF notes have a number of advantages over their paper equivalents - the text content can be as long as it needs to be (you don't need to strain to fit what you have to say on a little square of paper), they don't fall off or get lost, they can be hidden with a single click to reveal the original page content underneath, and they can be searched, sorted and organized (together with all the other types of PDF commentary) via the comments pane.
Once a note has been placed in a PDF document, other reviewers can add their own replies, turning the original note into something like a discussion thread in an online forum. Both the original note and all the replies remain searchable and sortable.
