The comments pane is the part of a PDF viewer application that shows a central listing of all annotations in the document, and appears either on the left-hand side or at the bottom of the application window. The comments pane allows the user to see all the annotations in the document (some of or all of them may be invisible at any given time), and also offers the ability to sort them by type, contributor, page and so on. Annotation properties can be edited, and it is also possible to display or hide all annotations in the document.
It is possible to force the comments pane to appear when a specific PDF document is opened by setting the workspace preferences of a the PDF file accordingly.
