Attachments are other files (images, sounds, text or other data) that have been included in a PDF document as whole files (rather than being added to the PDF document itself as new pages). Attachments can be attached to individual pages or directly to the PDF document itself; both types appear in the attachments dialog (Document -> File Attachments in Nitro PDF Professional) and in the comments pane, and page-level attachments also appear as small file icons somewhere on the pages in question.
Attachments are useful for including associated resources with a PDF document - original source documents, high-resolution images, archives and so on. In addition to the file itself, each attachment can also include a subject and a description; these are similar to the subject and description fields of PDF commenting elements (like notes and highlighting).
Naturally, Nitro PDF Professional includes complete support for PDF attachments, including attaching, opening, exporting and editing functionality.
