Explaining Nitro PDF Professional Preferences
- Caption. Sets whether the filename or document title is displayed in the title bar of Nitro PDF Professional. Or whether the properties included in the
document being opened in Nitro PDF Professional should determine it.
- Layout. Sets the page mode to open a document with and then use to scroll through the document. Modes include single-page,
continuous-page or continuous-facing page. Single-page treats the document as though it were a series of pages that you move through. The other modes work
more like the document is one large page that you scroll through, like a web page.
- Zoom. Sets the default magnification level. Choose from precise zoom percentages (12.5% to 1600%), or choose from the Fit Page,
Fit Width and Fit Height settings.
- Maximum opened files. Sets how many documents can be open in Nitro PDF Professional at one time.
- Units. Used to show the page dimensions and control the grid settings.
- Grid. Used to layout objects on the page properly. Using the View > Snap to Grid feature lets you force objects like graphics and
form fields to align to the grid.
- Set as Default Viewer. Sets Nitro PDF Professional to be the default viewer of your PDF documents -- when you double-click on PDF documents the
files will open in Nitro PDF Professional automatically.
- Smooth Text, Graphics, Thin Lines and Images. Makes text, lines and graphics smoother and clearer.
- Grey-out text. Greying out small size text speeds up the page display time. Small fonts are displayed as grey
lines instead of text and once the user zooms in closer the text is readable.
- Click Hand Tool. Sets whether the Hand tool is used for automatic scrolling. The Roll and Roll Screen settings enable the user to
scroll the page upwards or downwards by clicking on the page with the Hand tool.
- Show Viewbar. Sets the Status bar as large or small size.
- Large Toolbar. Sets the toolbars to a larger size for easier viewing.
- Show Scrollbar. Sets the scrollbar to be displayed always.
- Menu Display. Sets the menu to open normally or with a fade effect.
- Background colour. Sets the background color of the Document panel.
- Pop-up Font Size. Sets the size of the font used in pop-up commenting notes.
- Bookmark Font Size. Sets the size of the bookmark labels used in the Bookmark panel.
- Form Cookie's Lifecycle. Sets the length the form cookie lasts for.
